Canadians now have more healthcare options

New health services company offers online self-diagnosis and US treatment

RICHMOND, B.C., September 1, 2003 – TU Group is pleased to introduce OneWorld Medicare, a firm providing Canadians with innovative health care solutions. Through OneWorld Medicare’s unique services, individuals take a proactive approach to managing their health and wellness.

OneWorld Medicare provides reliable healthcare information 24-hours a day via its online decision support product, WorldDoc. An Internet health content portal, WorldDoc provides information on more than 90 per cent of common medical ailments and allows subscribers to diagnose their medical symptoms, research and understand the severity of their condition, then find a suggested treatment quickly and easily online. Subscribers set up a personal health profile to assess health risks and explore preventative measures.

OneWorld Medicare also offers Canadians an alternative to waiting for elective or prescribed surgery and specialized care. Its Treatment Management service centre will source a medical centre of excellence in the US, then schedule an individual’s procedure or surgery times, including any pre or post-operative visits. OneWorld Medicare delivers a highly personalized service, which includes booking travel and accommodations.

Overwhelming demand for individual health care management tools and timely access to medical treatment led TU Group to create OneWorld Medicare. OneWorld Medicare draws upon alliances built by World Wide Mediclaim Services (WWMS), another member of TU Group, which has more than 25 years’ experience in claims management and international assistance.
